Usage

Build Documentation Locally

# In development container
docker-compose -f .devcontainer/docker-compose_dev.yml exec python bash

# Inside container
cd /workspace/src/parodynews/docs
pip install -r requirements.txt
make clean
make html

# View documentation
# Open: build/html/index.html in browser

Build from Host Machine

# Build in container
docker-compose -f .devcontainer/docker-compose_dev.yml exec python \
bash -c "cd /workspace/src/parodynews/docs && make clean && make html"

# Documentation will be in: src/parodynews/docs/build/html/

Auto-rebuild on Changes

# In container
cd /workspace/src/parodynews/docs
sphinx-autobuild source build/html
# Then open http://localhost:8000

Known Issues and Warnings

Cross-Reference Warnings (Non-Critical)

  • Issue: Multiple targets found for DoesNotExist cross-references
  • Cause: Django models all have DoesNotExist exception
  • Impact: Documentation still builds and works correctly
  • Resolution: Can be fixed with more specific cross-references in future

Old Files Remaining

The old placeholder files still exist but are not used: - source/api.rst (old placeholder) - source/usage.rst (old placeholder) - source/views.py (test file) - source/parortd.py (test file)

Action: These can be removed in a cleanup phase.
